In the lone Wednesday Stanley Cup Playoff contest, Alex Ovechkin (power play) and Jason Chimera each scored once with Braden Holtby stopped 30 of 31 shots as the Washington Capitals squared their Eastern Conference semifinal series at three games apiece with their 2-1 home win over the New York Rangers, forcing the seventh and deciding game to be played in New York on Saturday night for the right to face the New Jersey Devils in the conference finals.
