1958 Dodge Swept Wing - original commercial
From a 1957-58 ABC Network telecast of Lawrence Welk's "Dodge Dancing Party," we present a commercial, narrated by Lou Crosby, for the "Swept-Wing" 1958 Dodge. At the end, Lawrence himself reminds the viewers to check out this particular automobile.

Timbers Gain Casacdia Cup Draw With Sounders In Seattle
At Seattle:
In front of 51,796 fans at CenturyLink Field, Diego Valeri's successfully-converted penalty kick in the second minute of first-half stoppage time enabled the Portland Timbers to gain a 1-1 Cascadia Cup----and Major League Soccer---road draw with the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.
Cristian Roldan scored for the Sounders, who maintained first place in the Western Conference standings, in the 18th minute.
The Timbers still top the standings for the Cascadia Cup title.
Seattle stretched their unbeaten streak to eleven games.
Portland's next match is at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on Saturday, September 9 against New York City FC at 2:30 PM Pacific Time (ROOT Sports).

Quarterback Dan Raudabaugh threw for four touchdowns (two of them to game Most Valuable Player Darius Prince) on Saturday as the Philadelphia Soul held off the visiting Tampa Bay Storm 44-40 to win ArenaBowl XXX and their third Arena Football League championship and their second in a row.

Rams Hammer Beavers In Second Half To Smother OSU In Season Opener

Quarterback Nick Stevens threw for three touchdown passes (and 334 yards) while linebacker Tre Thomas ran back an interception 44 yards for another score as the Colorado State Rams broke open what was a tight game at halftime by outscoring the visiting Oregon State Beavers 34-7 in the second half en route to a season-opening (for both schools) 58-27 victory in the Rams' first contest at their new on-campus stadium on Saturday.

Riders Run Roughshod Over Eskimos In Edmonton
At Edmonton, Alberta:
In the lone Friday Canadian Football League contest, the Saskatchewan Roughriders (4-4) dominated the home-standing Edmonton Eskimos (7-2) 54-31 for their first road win of the season.
Riders quarterback Kevin Glenn completed 19 of 31 passes for 240 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Saskatchewan defense ran back a pair of interceptions for touchdowns.

T2 Match In Texas Postponed
Portland Timbers 2's road match against San Antonio FC, originally set for Saturday, has been postponed until October 11 (at 5:30 PM Pacific Time, streamed via timbers.com and YouTube) due to big-time weather issues, the United Soccer League announced on Friday.

Here's a 1957 Hudson Hornet four-door sedan. This was the final model year for Hudson, which like Nash, would be dropped from the American Motors' lineup as AMC was getting set to concentrate on Rambler.

Timbers Hold Off Rapids At Home
At Portland, Oregon:
In Wednesday Major League Soccer action, Diego Valeri (21'; he scored a goal now in five straight games) and Darlington Nagbe (23') each scored once as the Portland Timbers held off the visiting Colorado Rapids 2-1.
Mohammed Saeid scored the lone goal for the Rapids in the 28th minute.
The Timbers will try to snap Seattle's ten-match unbeaten run when they visit the Sounders in a nationally-televised Cascadia Cup clash this coming Sunday evening at 6:30 PM Pacific Time (Fox Sports One).

Magazine Ad For '52 Nash Rambler
Here's a magazine ad for the 1952 Nash Rambler, as part of the Kenosha, Wisconsin's automaker's 50th anniversary, dating back to its' origins as the Thomas B. Jeffery company, which build the original Ramblers from 1902 until 1914. Ex-General Motors president Charles Nash bought the company in 1916 from Mr. Jeffery's son Charles and renamed it Nash Motors.
