From a 1957-58 ABC Network telecast of Lawrence Welk's "Dodge Dancing Party," we present a commercial, narrated by Lou Crosby, for the "Swept-Wing" 1958 Dodge.  At the end, Lawrence himself reminds the viewers to check out this particular automobile.

From 1939, here is the original recording by The Champagne Music of Lawrence Welk of Lawrence's long-time theme song, "Bubbles In The Wine."  It was originally released on Vocalion Records.  This looks like an early 1940's rerelease on Okeh (after CBS had phased out Vocalion).

50 Years Ago Tonight....

This episode of The Lawrence Welk Show first aired over the ABC Television Network.  Here are Lawrence and his Champagne Music Makers performing "In The Good Old Summertime."
 



This episode originated from the old Aragon Ballroom at Pacific Ocean Park in Santa Monica, California, which was the base for Lawrence and his Champagne Music Makers since 1951.  In fact, Lawrence old local TV show that aired on Los Angeles station KTLA-TV, originated from the Aragon.  That ended in 1955 when the King of Champagne Music went network over ABC and moved to a television studio.  Still, the boys still played their home dates at the Aragon most nights until 1961 when they moved to the Hollywood Palladium.
