Kelloggs All Bran Cereal Commercial 1952

From 1952, here's a TV commercial for Kellogg's All-Bran Cereal, which looks like it was produced by the folks at UPA.

From the looks of the animation, it looks like it was directed by Robert (Bobe) Cannon.



This aired during a telecast of NBC's All Star Revue, in which Kellogg's was one of the sponsors that 1951-52 season.

A Day At The Beach With Charlie And His Bloss, Mr. Magloo

Here's a made-for-television Mr. Magoo cartoon from UPA in 1960, "A Day At The Beach."  In this one, our nearsighted hero thinks he, his houseboy Charlie, and his cat Bowser (whom Quincy mistakes for a dog) are going to the beach.  This cartoon, in its' original undubbed version, was directed by Ray Patterson and written by ex-Disneyites Al Bertino and Dick Kinney.  Jim Backus, of course, stars as the voice of Mr. Quincy Magoo.

From 1958, here's an early commercial for Tang Instant Breakfast Drink, with animation from United Producers of America (UPA).

Now For Something More Brooding

From 1954, here's a UPA cartoon, released by Columbia Pictures.  It's an animated adaptation of Edgar Alllan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart."

Produced by Stephen Bosustow and directed by Ted Parmelee with design and color by Paul Julian, story adaptation by Bill Scott and Fred Grable, animation by Pat Matthews, camera work by Jack Eckes, and music by Boris Kremenliev.  Herbert Klynn was the production manager. 

Narrated by James Mason.

Originally filmed to be released in 3-D, it was, instead, released theatrically in 2-D.

Time For An Oscar-Winning Cartoon

Here's the 1950 Academy Award-winning cartoon, "Gerald McBoing Boing,"  made by United Productions of America as part of the studio's Jolly Frolics  series and distributed by Columbia Pictures.

Based upon the story by Ted (Dr. Seuss) Geisel with adaptation by Bill Scott and Phil Eastman, this cartoon about the boy who doesn't speak words but goes "boing, boing" instead was directed by Robert Cannon.

The rest of the credits are shown onscreen.
