151st Belmont Stakes: Sir Winston Comes Out On Top

At Elmont, New York:

Sir Winston, a 12-1 shot with jockey Joel Rosario aboard, won Saturday's 151st running of the Belmont Stakes.  Tacitus finished second and Joevia third.

The horse was trained by Mark E. Casse, who also trained War of Will (the Preakness Derby winner, fouled in the Kentucky Derby by the disqualified winner Maximum Security, finished ninth).

145th Kentucky Derby: 65-1 Longshot Country House Declared Winner After Maximum Security Was DQed Due To Fowl

At Louisville, Kentucky:

Country House, a 65-1 longshot with jockey Flavien Prat aboard, was declared the winner of Saturday's 145th running of The Kentucky Derby after Maximum Security, who finished first, was disqualified for committing a foul during the homestretch.

This was the first time that a Kentucky Derby winner was disqualified for a foul; Dancer's Image, who won the 1968 Derby, was disqualified for testing positive for a banned substance.

Code of Honor was awarded second place and Tacitus was awarded third.

JUSTIFY LEADS WIRE-TO-WIRE IN WINNING 150TH BELMONT STAKES AND TRIPLE CROWN (BECOMING THE 13TH HORSE TO DO SO)

At Elmont, New York:
Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner Justify (shown here) led wire-to-wire and won Saturday's 150th running of the Belmont Stakes and became the 13th horse to win the coveted Triple Crown.

Gronkowski finished second and Hofburg finished third.

Mike Smith, at age 52, became the oldest jockey to win the Triple Crown.

Trainer Bob Baffert won his second Triple Crown (to go with American Pharoah's 2015 triumph), becoming the second trainer to do so.

Justify became the second horse to go undefeated en route to the Triple Crown title (Seattle Slew, 1977).

143rd Preakness Stakes: Justify Survives Duel With Good Magic And Late Comeback From Other Horses To Keep Triple Crown Hopes Alive

At Baltimore:

On a muddy track and in foggy conditions at Pimlico Race Course, Kentucky Derby winner Justify, with jockey Mike Smith aboard, battled tooth and nail with Good Magic (who ultimately finished fourth) for much of the race until the home stretch, then held off hard-charging Bravazo by a half-length to win Saturday's 143rd running of the Preakness Stakes.

Tenfold finished third.

It was a record-tying seventh Preakness victory for Justify's trainer Bob Baffert.

Justify will try on June 9 to become the 13th horse to win the Triple Crown (the first since American Pharoah in 2015) by winning the Belmont States at Elmont, New York.

144th Kentucky Derby: Justify Tops Field On Rainy Saturday

At Louisville, Kentucky:

On a rainy Saturday, on a wet, muddy track at Churchill Downs, Justify, with jockey Mike Smith aboard, won the 144th edition of the Kentucky Derby, becoming the first horse since Apollo in 1882 to win the Run for the Roses without having raced as a two year-old.

Trainer Bob Baffert won his fifth Derby.

Good Magic was second and Audible finished third.

Nyquist Wins Kentucky Derby To Stay Unbeaten

At Louisville, Kentucky:

Nyquist, with jockey Mario Gutierrez aboard, won Saturday's 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby to remain unbeaten in eight career starts.  Exaggerator finished second and Gun Runner finished third.

AT LAST: AMERICAN PHAROAH LEADS WIRE-TO-WIRE, WINS BELMONT, ENDS 37-YEAR TRIPLE CROWN DROUGHT

At Elmont, New York:

American Pharoah led wire-to-wire on Saturday in winning the 147th running of the Belmont Stakes and became the 12th horse to win the Triple Crown---the first since Affirmed in 1978.

Trainer Bob Baffert won his first Triple Crown on his fourth try and jockey Victor Espinoza did so on his third.

Frosted finished second, 5 1/2 lengths behind, and Keen Ice finished third.

141st Kentucky Derby: Comeback Win For American Pharoah

At Louisville, Kentucky:

In front of a record 170, 513 spectators, American Pharoah, with Victor Espinoza aboard,  came from behind to win Saturday's 141st running of the Kentucky Derby, just beating out Firing Line, who finished second, and Dortmund, who finished third.

Trainer Bob Baffert won his fourth Run For The Roses while Mr. Espinoza won his third Derby.

36 Years And Counting: No Triple Crown Winner As Tonalist Wins Belmont Stakes; California Chrome Finished In Dead Heat For Fourth; Steve Coburn Foams At The Mouth

At Elmont, New York:

Tonalist , with jockey Joel Rosario aboard, overtook 27-1 shot Commissioner at the wire to win the 146th running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday with Wicked Strong finishing third.  Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner California Chrome, who entered the race as a 4-5 favorite, became the 12th horse since 1978 to have won the first two legs of the Triple Crown but come up short in the Belmont, finishing in a dead heat for fourth place with Medal Count.
