Here's another early live-action three-strip Technicolor short, with Leon Errol starring in a 1934 Warner Brothers-Vitaphone comedy, "Service With A Smile."



Screenplay and dialog by Eddie Moran and A. Dorian Otvos.

Steffi In Technicolor

Released theatrically by RKO Radio Pictures in 1934, here are Steffi Duna, Don Alvarado, and Paul Porcasi in the Academy Award-winning short subject "La Cucaracha."  This was the first live-action short subject to be filmed in three-strip Technicolor.



Made by Pioneer Pictures,  with screen play by Jack Twist and Jack Wagner (based upon the story by Lloyd Corrigan and Carly Wharton), this short was photographed by Ray Rennahan, designed in color by Robert Edmond Jones, produced by Kenneth MacGowan,  and directed by Lloyd Corrigan.

Fun With Edgar!

From RKO Radio Pictures in 1933, we present Edgar Kennedy starring in the short subject "Good Housewrecking."  In this one, Edgar and his family decide to open a home decorating service----even though they have no idea what they're doing whatsoever!

This short subject was directed by Harry Sweet, who wrote story; supervised by Lou Brock; photographed by Eddie Cronjager; recorded by Earl Wolcott; edited by John Lockert.

Joining Edgar in the cast are Florence Lake, Don Farley, Billy Eugene, Arthur Houseman, Jane Darwell, and Bud Jameson.

Time For Some Rare Buster!

From 1937, here's a short subject starring Buster Keaton entitled "Jail Bait."  It will presented in two parts.  This was one of a handful of mid-late 1930s two-reel comedies Buster did for Eductational Pictures (distributed theatrically by Twentieth Century-Fox).  With story by Paul Gerard Smith, this short subject was directed by Charles Lamont.  Harold Goodwin, Mathew Betz, Bud Jamison, and Betty Andre join Buster in the cast.

Time For Wartime Propaganda

From RKO-Pathe in 1943, here's a short subject titled "Conquer By The Clock." In this one, American employees are encouraged to make the best possible use of their time in a war where industrial production and combat are synchronized on an international level. This film was produced by Frederic Ullman, Jr., written by Phil Reisman, Jr., and directed by Slavko Vorkapich.

Time For Some Laughs

From 1930, here's W. C. Fields in an early short film, "The Golf Specialist."  This film, from RKO Radio Pictures, was produced by Louis Brock and directed by Monte Brice. 

Time For A Visit With Curly, Larry, and Moe!

From 1935, here are The Three Stooges starring in the Columbia Pictures short, "Three Little Beers."  In this one, the boys are supposed to be making beer deliveries.  When they arrive at a golf course to deliver the adult beverage, they decide to play a round of golf instead.  With screenplay and story by Clyde Bruckman, this short was produced by Jules White and directed by Del Lord.

Justice, Rudy Vallee Style

From 1931, here's Rudy Vallee and his Connecticut Yankees, starring in "Musical Justice," originally released theatrically by Paramount Pictures.  The short, directed by Aubrey Scotto, with music by Sammy Lerner and Sammy Timberg, also features Mae Questel, who would be best remembered for her portrayals of Betty Boop, Olive Oyl, and Little Audrey in various Fleischer/Famous/Paramount Cartoon studios animated shorts.

Early Ginger

Here is an unknown Ginger Rogers starring in a 1930 comedy short entitled "Office Blues," originally released theatrically by Paramount Pictures.



Directed by Mort Blumenstock.  In this one, Ginger plays a perky young stenographer who has a big-time crush on her boss.
