Super Bowl IV
Here's the front cover of the offficial program of the final AFL-NFL World Championship Game, also known as Super Bowl IV, contested at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans on January 11, 1970 as the Kansas City Chiefs gained a 2-2 split of the pre-merger Super Bowls for the AFL by beating the NFL's Minnesota Vikings 23-7.

In the National Football League regular season opener for both clubs, quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 244 yards and a pair of touchdowns on Sunday as the Minnesota Vikings defeated the visiting San Francisco 49ers 24-16, snapping the guests' five-game regular-season winning streak dating back to last season.

Niners Overpower Vikes In Regular-Season Opener
At Santa Clara, California:
Running back Carlos Hyde carried the ball 26 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns on Monday night as the San Francisco 49ers throttled the visiting Minnesota Vikings 20-3 in the National Football League regular-season opener for both teams.
The victory came in the opening contest of Jim Tomsula's second stint as the Niners' head coach (he coached one game---a victory over Arizona---on an interim basis at the end of the 2010 season).
It was the first Monday night NFL game to be played at Levi's Stadium----site of Super Bowl 50.

Quarterback Christian Ponder threw two touchdown passes to tight end Kyle Rudolph and ran 23 yards for another score as the Minnesota Vikings (2-1) knocked off the previously-unbeaten San Francisco 49ers (2-1) 24-13 at home in Sunday National Football League action.

Saints Outlast Vikes In Low-Scoring Season Opener

Quarterback Drew Brees completed 27 of 36 passes for 237 yards and a touchdown (29 yards to Devry Henderson) while Pierre Thomas ran one yard for what turned out to be the game-winning score as the New Orleans Saints began defense of their Super Bowl title with a 14-9 home win over the Minnesota Vikings in a rematch of last January's NFC title game as the National Football League launched its' 91st regular season on Thursday night.
As for Brett Favre, he competed 15 of 27 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown (20 yards to Visanthe Shiancoe).

Peyton Manning threw for three touchdowns (to Austin Collie [16 yards]in the second quarter, Pierre Garcon [4 yards] in the third, and Dallas Clark [15 yards] in the fourth) as the Indianapolis Colts erased a second-quarter 11-point deficit to defeat the New York Jets 30-17 Sunday to win the American Football Conference Championship. The Colts are heading for their second Super Bowl in four years.
