NBA Playoffs: Comeback Wins For Spurs And Thunder Put Los Angeles Teams On Brink Of Eliminatioin

The NBA Playoffs continued with two games on Saturday, both in the Western Conference semifinals, both played at Los Angeles.


In the opener, Tony Parker scored 23 points (with 10 assists) while Tim Duncan added 19 as the San Antonio Spurs overcame a 24-point second-quarter (and a 28-point, 16 rebound performance from Blake Griffin), went on a 24-0 third-quarter run, and defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 96-86 (for their seventeenth consecutive win overall) to take a three-games-to-none lead in their conference semifinal series, which they can lock up with a game-four win at the Staples Center on Sunday.


In the nightcap, Russell Westbrook scored 37 points (10 of them in the fourth quarter) while Kevin Durant added 31 (to go with his 13 rebounds) as the Oklahoma City Thunder came from behind to overcome the Los Angeles Lakers (and Kobe Bryant's 38 points) 103-100 in game four of their conference semifinal series.  The Thunder, who lead the series three games to one, can close out the series with a home win on Monday night.
