PATRIOTS ERASE 25-POINT DEFICIT, UPEND FALCONS IN FIRST SUPER BOWL DECIDED IN OT; TOM BRADY NAMED GAME MVP

At Houston:

Running back James White scored his third touchdown on Sunday night, a two-yard run in the series' first-ever overtime period as the New England Patriots erased a 25-point third-quarter deficit and upended the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in Super Bowl LI by scoring 31 unanswered points.

Quarterback Tom Brady, named the game's Most Valuable Player for a record fourth time, completed 43 of a Super-Bowl record 62 passes for a series-record 466 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the first quarterback to win five Super Bowls.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichik became the first head coach to win five Super Bowls as well as New England staged the biggest comeback in series history.

The 25-point deficit was the biggest ever to be overcome in Super Bowl history.
