118th Civil War: Marcus Mariota Puts On Clinic As Ducks Dominate Beavers In Bid To Reach Playoff; No Bowl For Beavers

At Corvallis, Oregon:

Marcus Mariota threw for 367 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 39 yards and two more scores on Saturday night as the Oregon Ducks (#2 in the College Football Playoff rankings, #2 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches polls; 11-1 overall, 8-1 in Pac-12 play) dominated the home-standing Oregon State Beavers (5-7, 2-7) 47-19 in the 118th edition of the Civil War Game.

The Ducks will take on the Arizona Wildcats (who handed them their only defeat of the season) in next Friday's Pac-12 Championship Game at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California (6:00 PM Pacific Time, FOX Television).  A victory over Arizona will likely assure the Ducks a berth in the semifinal round of the inaugural College Football Playoff.

After six losses in their last seven games and their seventh straight defeat at the hands of their arch-rival, the Beavers failed to gain bowl eligibility this year.
