ALCS: Tigers One Way Away From First World Series Appearance Since 2006

At Detroit:

Justin Verlander pitched 8 and 1/3 strong innings of three-hit ball while Delmon Young hit a home run in the fourth inning and Miguel Cabrera delivered an RBI double in the fifth as the Detroit Tigers held off the visiting New York Yankees 2-1 on Tuesday to take a three-games-to-none lead in the American League Championship Series.  The Tigers can lock up their first American League pennant since 2006 with a home win in game four on Wednesday.
