ALCS: Tigers Blank Derek Jeter-less Yankees To Take 2-0 Series Lead Back To Detroit

At New York:

Anibal Sanchez pitched seven brilliant innings of three-hit shutout baseball as the Detroit Tigers took advantage of few opportunities they had on offense on Sunday as they blanked the New York Yankees 3-0 in game two of the American League Championship Series.  The Tigers, who now lead the series two games to none, will have Justin Verlander on the mound for game three in Detroit on Tuesday.

Delmon Young delivered an RBI on a forceout grounder in the seventh inning, then Avisail Garcia and Miguel Carbrera each had an RBI single in the eighth inning for Detroit.
