NBA Playoffs: Celtics, Mavs Take 2-0 Series Leads; Magic Even Series With Hawks

The opening round of the NBA Playoffs continued on Tuesday with three games.


Eastern Conference:


At Boston:


Rajon Rondo scored a playoff career-high 30 points while Kevin Garnett scored the go-ahead bucket with 14 seconds remaining then stole the ball with 4 seconds left as the Boston Celtics overcame a 42 point, 17 rebound night from Carmelo Anthony to defeat the visiting New York Knicks 96-93 and take a two-games to none lead in their conference quarterfinal series.


At Orlando, Florida:


Dwight Howard scored 33 points and grabbed 19 rebounds as the Orlando Magic squared their series with the Atlanta Hawks at one game apiece following their 88-82 win at home.


Western Conference:


Dirk Nowitzki scored 33 points Peja Stojakovic added 21 (while sinking five three-pointers) and Jason Kidd contributed 18 as the Dallas Mavericks took a two-games-to-none advantage in their opening round series with a 101-89 home win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
