Syracuse Outlasts K-State In The Bronx

At New York:

Delone Carter ran for 198 yards and two touchdowns and Marcus Sales caught three TD passes as Syracuse (8-5) held off Kansas State (7-6) 36-34 in Thursday's inaugural edition of the New Era Pinstripe Bowl.  When the Wildcats' Adrain Hilburn slipped a tackle and raced to the end zone with a 30-yard touchdown catch with 73 seconds remaining, he gave a salute to the fans and was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike penalty.  Kansas State's two-point conversion attempt, which would have tied the game, had to be tried from 18 yards out.  It failed.
