Liberty Bowl: Middies Hold Off K-State In Memphis For Record-Tying 11th Victory

At Memphis, Tennessee:

Bijan Nichols kicked the game-winning field goal from 23 yards out with five seconds remaining as Navy (#23 CFP; 11-2) capped off a school record-tying 11-win season by defeating the Kansas State Wildcats (8-5) 20-17 in Tuesday's Liberty Bowl.

The Midshipmen's one-man wrecking crew, quarterback Malcolm Perry, completed five of seven passes for 57 yards and a touchdown while carrying the ball 28 times for 213 yards.

RAMBLERS OUTDISTANCE K-STATE TO WIN NCAA SOUTH REGION TITLE, ADVANCE TO FIRST FINAL FOUR IN 55 YEARS

At Atlanta (Philips Arena):

In Saturday's final of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's South Regional, Ben Richardson scored a career-high 23 points as the eleventh-seeded Loyola-Chicago Ramblers (32-5) had their way with the ninth-seeded Kansas State Wildcats (25-12) 78-62 to advance to their first Final Four since 1963---when they won the national title.

Cactus Bowl: K-State Overcomes Halftime Deficit, Overpowers UCLA

At Phoenix, Arizona:

Quarterback Alex Delton ran for 158 yards and three touchdowns and threw for another as the Kansas State Wildcats (8-5) overcame a ten-point deficit and ran away from the UCLA Bruins (6-7) 35-17 in Tuesday's Cactus Bowl.

Texas Bowl: K-State Tops A&M

At Houston:

Jesse Ertz threw for 195 yards and a touchdown and ran for two more scores on Wednesday night as the Kansas State Wildcats (9-4) defeated the Texas A&M Aggies (8-5) 33-28 in the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl as the Wildcats completed a perfect season (5-0) against teams from the Lone Star State (they also defeated Texas Tech, Texas, Baylor, and Texas Christian).

In Saturday's AutoZone Liberty Bowl, running back Alex Collins ran for 185 yards and three touchdowns as the Arkansas Razorbacks (8-5) overpowered the Kansas State Wildcats (6-7) 45-23.

Alamo Bowl: Bruins Hold Off K-State Comeback

At San Antonio:

Paul Perkins ran for 194 yards on 20 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns (32 and 67 yards) as the UCLA Bruins (10-3) blew a 25-point halftime lead but still held off the Kansas State Wildcats (9-4) 40-35 in Friday's Alamo Bowl game.

Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl: K-State Too Much For Wolverines

At Tempe, Arizona:

Jake Waters threw for 271 yards and connected with Tyler Lockett on three touchdowns (6, 29, 8 yards) on Saturday night as the Kansas State Wildcats (8-5) overpowered the Michigan Wolverines (7-6) in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.  The victory was the Wildcats' first in a bowl game in 11 years.

Fiesta Bowl: Ducks Start Fast, Overpower K-State

At Glendale, Arizona:

De'Anthony Thomas returned the opening kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown, then caught one of two touchdown passes from Marcus Mariota for another score (from 23 yards) as the Oregon Ducks (#4 in the Bowl Championship Series standings, #5 in the Associated Press poll, #3 in the USA Today/Coaches poll; 12-1) defeated the Kansas State Wildcats (#5 in the BCS, #7 in the AP poll, #6 in the coaches' poll; 11-2) 35-17 in Thursday's Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.  Mr. Mariota, who also threw a TD pass (24 yards) to running back Kenjon Barner (who ran for 143 yards), also ran for a score (two yards).

In what may have been his final game as Ducks head football coach (he's being pursued by several NFL teams), Chip Kelly has coached Oregon to a Bowl Championship Series contest in each of his four seasons at the helm, winning his last two.

Cotton Bowl Classic: Hogs Top K-State

At Arlington, Texas:


Joe Adams ran back a punt 51 yards for a touchdown (his fourth such return for a score this season) while quarterback Tyler Wilson threw for two more scores as the #6 Arkansas Razorbacks (11-2) matched a single-season school record for wins with a 29-16 win over the #8 Kansas State Wildcats (10-3) in Friday's Cotton Bowl Classic.

Syracuse Outlasts K-State In The Bronx

At New York:

Delone Carter ran for 198 yards and two touchdowns and Marcus Sales caught three TD passes as Syracuse (8-5) held off Kansas State (7-6) 36-34 in Thursday's inaugural edition of the New Era Pinstripe Bowl.  When the Wildcats' Adrain Hilburn slipped a tackle and raced to the end zone with a 30-yard touchdown catch with 73 seconds remaining, he gave a salute to the fans and was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike penalty.  Kansas State's two-point conversion attempt, which would have tied the game, had to be tried from 18 yards out.  It failed.
