Belk Bowl: Hokies Erase 24-Point Halftime Deficit, Stun Hogs

Jerod Evans threw for 243 yards and touchdowns while running for two more scores on Thursday as the Virginia Tech Hokies (10-4; #22 in the CFP rankings, #18 in the Associated Press poll, #19 in the USA Today/Coaches rankings) overcame a 24-point halftime deficit and upended the Arkansas Razorbacks (7-6) 35-21 in the Belk Bowl.

In a meeting of two former Southwest Conference rivals, quarterback Brandon Allen threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns on Monday as the Arkansas Razorbacks (7-6) clinched their first winning season since 2011 with a 31-7 thumping of the Texas Longhorns (6-7) in the Texas Bowl.

Joe Adams ran back a punt 51 yards for a touchdown (his fourth such return for a score this season) while quarterback Tyler Wilson threw for two more scores as the #6 Arkansas Razorbacks (11-2) matched a single-season school record for wins with a 29-16 win over the #8 Kansas State Wildcats (10-3) in Friday's Cotton Bowl Classic.
Rankings used are from the Bowl Championship Series.

Buckeyes Hold Off Hogs In Nawlins

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns and Solomon Thomas intercepted a Ryan Mallett pass with 58 seconds remaining as Ohio State (12-1) defeated Arkansas (10-3) 31-26 in Tuesday night's Allstate Sugar Bowl. The win was the Buckeyes' first in ten bowl games against teams from the Southeastern Conference.
