The Niners are off to their first 2-0 start since 2012, when they last reached the Super Bowl.

Running back Jeremy Hill ran for a pair of one-yard touchdowns while quarterback A. J. McCarron, playing for the injured Andy Dalton, completed 15 of 21 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown (20 yards to Tyler Kroft) as the Cincinnati Bengals (11-3) clinched a playoff berth (their fifth in a row) with a 24-10 road victory over the San Francisco 49ers (4-10) who assured themselves of finishing in the NFC West Division basement for the first time since 2005.

Running back Kendall Hunter ran for the game's only touchdown in the fourth quarter while David Akers connected on a pair of field goals (23 and 53 yards) as the San Francisco 49ers (2-1) defeated the Cincinnati Bengals (1-2) 13-8 in Sunday National Football League action.
The win, coupled with Arizona's loss at Seattle, lifted the Niners to sole possession of first place in the West Division of the National Football Conference.

Jets Ground Bengals In Playoff Opener
The National Football League playoffs commenced Saturday with two Wild-Card games, one in each conference.
At Cincinnati:
Quarterback Mark Sanchez completed 12 of 15 passes for 182 yards and a rating of 139.4 and running back Shonn Greene ran for 135 yards, including 39 for a touchdown as the New York Jets defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 24-14 on the road in an AFC Wild Card playoff game.
The Jets will play next weekend on the road. Whom and where they will play will depend on the results of Sunday's Baltimore-New England contest. If the Ravens win, the Jets will travel to San Diego. It the Patriots win, New York travels to Indianapolis.
