The Cardinals will face the Wichita State Shockers in Saturday's first national semifinal game at Atlanta's Georgia Dome (3:09 PM Pacific Time, CBS).

NCAA Midwest: Louisville (Who Ousts Ducks) and Duke For Trip To Atlanta
The semifinal round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament took place on Friday with two games played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
In the opener, Russ Smith scored a career-high-tying 31 points as the top-seeded (both for the regional and overall for the tournament) Louisville Cardinals (32-5) led from wire-to-wire as they downed the #12 Oregon Ducks (28-9) 77-69. E.J. Singler led the Ducks with 15 points as Oregon had five players scoring in double figures.
In the nightcap, Seth Curry scored 29 points as the #2 Duke Blue Devils (30-5) held off the #3 Michigan State Spartans (27-9) 71-61.
Louisville will take on Duke in Sunday's Midwest Regional final with the winner heading for Atlanta and the Final Four (5:05 PM Pacific Time, CBS).

NCAA West: Buckeyes Outlast Wildcats; Shockers Finish Off Explorers
The West Regional semifinal round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament took place on Thursday with two game played in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
In the opener, three of the 17 points LaQuinton Ross scored came on the game-winning shot with two seconds remaining as the Ohio State Buckeyes (29-7), seeded #2, edged #6-seeded Arizona (27-8) 73-70. Deshaun Thomas led the Buckeyes in scoring with 20 points while Mark Lyons tallied 23 to pace the Wildcats.
In the nightcap, Malcolm Armstead scored 18 points while Carl Hall added 16 as ninth-seeded Wichita State (29-8) proved too much for #13-seeded La Salle 72-58 (24-10).

NCAA Midwest: 2000th Win For Blue Devils As Duke Eliminates Creighton

In the lone Sunday NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Midwest Regional contest, Rasheed Sulaimon scored 21 points while Seth Curry added 17 as the #2-seeded Duke Blue Devils (29-5) posted the 2000th victory in their basketball history by defeating the seventh-seeded Creighton Bluejays (28-8) 66-50. The defeat marked the final game for Creighton as a member of the basketball version of the Missouri Valley Conference. Next season, the Bluejays will join the new Big East Conference.

NCAA Midwest: Ducks, Cardinals, Spartans Punch Tickets For Indianapolis
Three games were played in the third round of the Midwest Regional of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday.
At Auburn Hills, Michigan:
Gary Harris scored a6 of his career-high 23 points in the first half as the #3-seeded Michigan State Spartans (27-8) cruised to a 70-48 win over #6-seeded Memphis (31-5) to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
At Lexington, Kentucky:
Russ Smith scored 27 points as the top-seeded (both regional and overall) Louisville Cardinals (31-5) made short work of the eighth-seeded Colorado State Rams (26-9) 82-56.
At San Jose, California:

Singler added 14 and Arsalan Kazemi grabbed 16 rebounds (to go with his eight points) as the #12-seeded Oregon Ducks (28-8) wound up dominating the #4-seeded Saint Louis Billikens 74-57 (28-7). NCAA West: Rebels Knock Off Badgers; Explorers Shock K-State
Four games were played on Friday as second-round action in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's West Regional continued.
At Kansas City, Missouri:
In the first of two games played at the Sprint Center, Marshall Henderson scored 19 points as the #12-seeded Ole Miss Rebels (27-8) knocked off the fifth-seeded Wisconsin Badgers (23-12) 57-46. It was the Rebels' first NCAA tourney win since 2001.
In the second contest, Jerrell Wright scored 21 points (converting three foul shots in the final half-minute along the way) as the thirteenth-seeded LaSalle Explorers (22-9) blew an 18-point halftime lead but managed to upset fourth-seeded Kansas State 63-61(27-8) despite a 17-point, 12-rebound performance from the Wildcats' Jordan Henriquez.
At Dayton, Ohio:
In the opening contest played at University of Dayton Arena, Deshaun Thomas scored 24 points while Sam Thompson added 20 (to go with his 10 rebounds, both career highs) as the second-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (27-7) took care of #15-seeded Iona (20-14) 95-70.
#10-seeded Iowa State (23-11) eliminated #7-seeded Notre Dame 76-58 (25-10). Georges Niang scored 19 points to pace the Cyclones as the Fighting Irish played their final basketball game as a member of the Big East Conference (they will join the ACC next season).

In the opener, Seth Curry scored 26 points while Mason Plumlee added 23 (to go with his nine rebounds) as the second-seeded Duke Blue Devils (28-5) defeated the fifteenth-seeded Albany Great Danes (24-11) 73-61. For Blue Devils' coach Mike Krzyzewski, it was his 80th NCAA Tourney victory.
In the second game, seventh-seeded Creighton (28-7), with a 27-point, 11-rebound performance from Doug McDermott, held off tenth-seeded Cincinnati (22-12) 67-63.

NCAA MIdwest: Ducks Hogtie Cowboys, Get Billikens Next; Cards Steamroll Aggies; Spartans, Memphis, CSU Advance
The second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament got under way on Thursday with 16 games being played, including six games played in the Midwest Regioinal.
At Auburn Hills, Michigan:
In the first of two Midwest Regional contests being played at the Palace of Auburn Hills, third-seeded Michigan State (26-8) coasted to a 65-54 victory over #14-seeded Valparaiso (26-8). Derrick Nix scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Spartans.
In the second contest, a three-point bucket from Matthew Dellavedova as time expired carried the sixth-seeded Memphis Tigers (31-4) to a narrow 54-52 win over #11-seeded Saint Mary's (28-7). Joe Jackson tallied 14 points to pace the Tigers.
At San Jose, California:
In the first of two Midwest Regional contests played at the HP Pavillion, Dwayne Evans scored 24 points as #4-seeded Saint Louis (28-6) manhanded thirteenth-seeded New Mexico State (24-11) 64-44. The 28th win this season is a new single-season school record for the Billikens, who held the Aggies to 28% shooting from the field and forced 16 turnovers.
In the second game, Damyean Dotson scored 17 points while Dominic Artis added thirteen and Arsalan Kazemi eleven (to go with his 17 rebounds) as the #12-seeded Oregon Ducks (27-8) racked up their first NCAA Tourney win since 2007 with their 68-55 win over fifth-seeded Oklahoma State (24-9).

In the second game, Dorian Green scored 26 points as the eighth-seeded Colorado State Rams (26-8) defeated the ninth-seeded Missouri Tigers (23-11) 84-72.
