Adam Henrique scored the winning goal 63 minutes into overtime as the New Jersey Devils defeated the visiting New York Rangers 3-2 in game six of the Eastern Conference Finals, enabling them to win the series four games to two.  The Devils will open up their first appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals since 2003 on Wednesday night at home against the Los Angeles Kings (making their first appearance in the finals since 1993).

Ryan Carter scored the winning goal with 4:24 remaining in the third period as the New Jersey Devils, after blowing a three-goal first-period lead, still topped the New York Rangers 5-3 on the road in game five of the Eastern Conference finals as the Stanley Cup Playoffs continued on Wednesday.  The Devils can lock up their first conference title since 2003 with a game-six victory at home on Friday night at Newark.

Dustin Penner scored the winning goal at 17:42 of overtime on Tuesday night as the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Phoenix Coyotes 4-3 in game five of the Western Conference finals, which the Kings won four games to two.  Los Angeles, who are currently 8-0 on the road in the playoffs,  will open up their second Stanley Cup Finals appearance next Wednesday night at New York or New Jersey.  The Kings dropped their one previous finals appearance four-games-to-one to the Montreal Canadiens in 1993.

Mike Smith stopped all 36 shots while Shane Doan scored both goals (one of them on the power play) as the Phoenix Coyotes blanked the Los Angeles Kings 2-0 on the road in game five of their Western Conference final, adverting what would have been a four-game sweep, cutting the Los Angeles advantage to three games to one.  The Kings (unbeaten on the road in this year's playoffs at 7-0) can still close out the series at Glendale, Arizona on Tuesday night.

Two power-play goals, the first from Brad Richards with 7.6 seconds remaining in regulation, and the second, from Marc Staal, 95 seconds into overtime, carried the New York Rangers to a 3-2 come-from-behind home win over the Washington Capitals to give them a three-games-to-two conference semifinal series advantage.  The Rangers can close out the series and reach their first conference final since 1997 with a win at Washington on Wednesday night.

Derek Morris and Martin Hanzal scored second-half goals and Mike Smith stopped 32 of 33 shots as the Phoenix Coyotes eliminated the Nashville Predators with their 2-1 game-five home victory, enabling them to win their conference semifinal series four games to one.  For the first time in their 33-year NHL history, the Coyotes have reached a conference final, in which they would have home ice advantage against the Los Angeles Kings.

Martin Brodeur celebrated his 40th birthday as the New Jersey Devils came back from a two-goal deficit with four unanswered tallies---from Petr Sykora (power play), Marek Zidlicky, and Dainius Zubrus (two, one of them an empty netter)---in their 4-2 home win over the Philadelphia Flyers as they took a three-games-to-one conference semifinal series lead.  Marty the Magnificent stopped 20 of 22 shots.  The Devils can close out the series with a win in Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

Dustin Brown scored twice (once an empty netter) and Jonathan Quick stopped 23 of 24 shots as the Los Angeles Kings completed a four-game sweep of their conference semifinal series with the St. Louis Blues  3-1 at home.  The Kings advance to a conference final for only the second time in their history (the other time was 1993, when they reached their only Stanley Cup Final appearance).

Shane Doan scored the only goal of the game in the first period while Mike Smith stopped all 25 shots as the Phoenix Coyotes blanked the home-standing Nashville Predators 1-0 in the lone Friday Stanley Cup Playoff contest.  The Coyotes, who lead their Western Conference semifinal series three games to one, can clinch their first-ever NHL conference final berth with a home victory at Glendale, Arizona on Monday night.

Goals from Justin Williams, Dwight King, Mike Richards (power play) and Drew Doughty lifted the Los Angeles Kings to a 4-2 game-three home win over the St. Louis Blues.  The Kings, who lead their conference semifinal series three games to none, can complete a four-game sweep with a victory on Sunday at home.

Marian Gaborik scored the winning goal at 14:41 of the third overtime period as the New York Rangers took a two-games-to-one lead in their conference semifinal series with their 2-1 road win over the Washington Capitals. Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped 45 of 46 shots for the win while his Washington counterpart Braden Holtby stopped 47 of 49.

Pekka Rinne stopped all 32 Phoenix shots as the Nashville Predators, with David Legwand and Mike Fisher scoring first-period goals 66 seconds apart, blanked the visiting Coyotes 2-0 to cut the Phoenix advantage in their conference semifinal series to two games to one.
