In a Sunday Major League Soccer contest, Brian Fernandez scored twice (20', 51') as the Portland Timbers knocked off the Seattle Sounders 2-1 on the road in a contentious Cascadia Cup clash.
Raul Ruidiaz scored for the hosts in the 50th minute.
The Timbers will host the Los Angeles Galaxy in a nationally-televised Saturday night contest at 7:30 PM Pacific Time (FS1).
