NBA Playoffs: Rockets One Victory Away From Ousting Warriors

At Houston:

Eric Gordon scored 24 points while Chris Paul added 20 before suffering a late fourth-quarter hamstring injury on Thursday as the Houston Rockets held off the visiting Golden State Warriors 98-94 in game five of the NBA's Western Conference Finals.

James Harden added 19 points (despite missing all eleven three-point shots) to the Rockets' coffers.

Kevin Durant topped the Warriors with 29 points while Klay Thompson added 23 and Stephen Curry 22.

The Rockets, who lead the series three games to two, can de-throne the defending NBA champions (and advance to their first NBA Finals since last winning the title in 1995) with a game-six win in Oakland on Saturday (6:00 PM Pacific Time, TNT)
