Ken Stabler, the former University of Alabama quarterback who starred with the Oakland Raiders in the 1970s and led them to the Super Bowl XI title in January, 1977, passed away on Wednesday night of complications from colon cancer at age 69.
Mr. Stabler quarterbacked coach Paul "Bear" Bryant's Crimson Tide in the mid-to-late 1960s
Kenny, who was nicknamed the Snake, spent 10 of his 15 NFL seasons with the Raiders. He also played with the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints---during his time in Oakland, he was named NFL Most Valuable Player in 1974 and reached the Pro Bowl on four occasions.
