Actor Leonard Nimoy, best remembered for his portrayal of the human-alien Mr. Spock, first officer of the Starship Enterprise in the classic 1966-69 NBC Network series Star Trek, as well as several theatrical films based on the TV series, passed away on Friday at his home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles at age 83.
Mr. Nimoy's sister, Susan Bay Nimoy, confirmed Leonard's passing, resulting from end-stage obstructive pulmonary disease.
