Fiesta Bowl (CFP National Semifina #2): Clemson Upends Buckeyes, Will Face LSU For The Marbles

At Glendale, Arizona:

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Travis Etienne with 1:49 remaining in regulation as the defending national champion Clemson Tigers (#3 CFP; 14-0) overcame the second-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (13-1) 29-23 in the Fiesta Bowl.

The Tigers' Nolan Turner intercepted a pass from OSU's Justin Fields in the end zone with 37 seconds remaining to seal the Clemson victory.

It will be a battle of Tigers on January 13 when Clemson will look for their third national title in four years as they will face LSU in the CFP national championship game in New Orleans (5:00 PM Pacific Time, ESPN).

Rose Bowl: Buckeyes Hold Off Huskies In Urban Meyer's Swan Song

At Pasadena, California:

Quarterback Dwayne Haskins threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns as the Ohio State Buckeyes (#6 in the CFP rankings; 13-1), in Urban Meyer's final game as head coach, held off a furious Washington Huskies (#9 CFP; 10-4) second-half rally for a 28-23 Rose Bowl victory on Tuesday.

No Urban? No Problem As Buckeyes Maul Beavers In Season Opener

At Columbus, Ohio:

With quarterback Dwayne Haskins, Jr. throwing five touchdown passes on Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes (#5 in the Associated Press poll; #3 in the USA Today/Coaches rankings), minus suspended head coach Urban Meyer, blew out the visiting Oregon State Beavers 77-31 in the regular-season football opener for both schools, ruining the debut of new Beavers' head coach Jonathan Smith.

Cotton Bowl Classic: Buckeyes Smother Trojans As New Year's Six Commences

At Arlington, Texas:

In the curtain-raiser for the New Year's Six, Damon Webb's interception return for a touchdown set the tone as the Ohio State Buckeyes (#5 in the final CFP rankings; 12-2), having felt snubbed by the College Football Playoff Committee, took their frustrations out on error-prone Southern California (#8, 11-3) as they manhandled the Trojans 24-7 in Friday's Cotton Bowl Classic.

CFP Semifinal (PlayStation Fiesta Bowl): Clemson Buries Ohio State, Sets Up Title Game Rematch With 'Bama; Buckeyes Shut Out In Post-Season Play First Time Since 1920 Rose Bowl

At Glendale, Arizona:

Quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for 259 yards and a touchdown (30 yards to C.J. Fuller) and carried the ball for 57 yards and two more scores on Saturday night as the second-seeded Clemson Tigers (13-1) demolished the third-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (11-2) 31-0 in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, which doubled as the second College Football Playoff semifinal contest.

The shutout defeat with the first suffered by the Buckeyes in a post-season match since being stifled by California 28-0 in the 1920 Rose Bowl.  It was the first-ever shutout suffered by OSU head coach Urban Meyer in 15 years as an FBS head coach (his 194th game).

The Tigers will get another shot at defending champs Alabama in a rematch of last year's CFP title game in this year's championship game, set for Monday, January 9 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, with the kickoff set for 5:30 PM Pacific Time (ESPN).
