Quarterback Tommy Armstrong, Jr. ran 34 yards for the game-winning touchdown with 2:29 remaining on Saturday as the Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-0) came from behind to overtake the visiting Oregon Ducks (2-1; #22 in the Associated Press poll, #21 in the USA Today/Amway Coaches rankings) 35-32.

Foster Farms Bowl: 'Huskers Knock Off Bruins

At Santa Clara, California:

Tommy Armstrong, Jr. threw a touchdown pass (22 yards to Stanley Morgan) and ran three yards for another score as the Nebraska Cornhuskers (6-7) overcame a 21-7 deficit then held off the UCLA Bruins (8-5) 37-29 in Saturday's Foster Farms Bowl.

Holiday Bowl: Trojans Edge 'Huskers In Slugfest

At San Diego:

Quarterback Cody Kessler completed 23 of 39 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns (including a 71-yarder to Adoree' Jackson, who also ran back a kickoff 98 yards for another score) on Saturday as the Southern California Trojans (9-4) blew an 18-point lead but still held off the Nebraska Cornhuskers (9-4) 45-42 in the National University Holiday Bowl.  It was the first post-season meeting between the two schools.

Losing to Wisconsin and Minnesota robbed your team of a shot at the Buckeyes in the Big 10 title game this year (in your team's lone Big Ten Conference title game, the Badgers took the 'Huskers to the cleaners).

Yes, your teams in those seven years had a very good 67-27 record.

Unfortunately in Lincoln, even that record wasn't good enough.

Not winning a conference title or qualifying for a BCS (or its' successor) bowl in all those years sort of made you a bum.

Quarterback Aaron Murray threw a school-bowl-record five touchdown passes on Tuesday as the Georgia Bulldogs (#7 in the Bowl Championship Series standings, #6 in the Associated Press poll, and #5 in the USA Today/Coaches rankings; 12-2) outlasted the Nebraska Cornhuskers (#16 in the BCS, #23 in the AP poll, #21 in the coaches' rankings; 10-4) 45-31 in the Capital One Bowl.

Tony Woods, who converted 7 of 11 shots from the field, scored 14 points as the Oregon Ducks (9-1) downed the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers (6-3) 60-38 on Saturday.

Garrett Sim scored 20 points and E. J. Singler added 14 as the Oregon Ducks (3-1) knocked off the previously unbeaten Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-1) 83-76 on the road on Wednesday night.

At State College, Pennsylvania:


Despite a second-half comeback effort, the Penn State Nittany Lions (ranked #12 in the BCS rankings; 8-2 overall, 5-1 in Big-10 play) fell 17-14 at home to the Nebraska Cornhuskers (#19 in BCS; 8-2, 4-2) on Saturday in their first post-Joe Paterno era contest.  Rex Burkhead ran for 121 yards and what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown for the 'Huskers.

Despite an injury, quarterback Jake Locker ran 25 yards for a third-quarter touchdown and tailback Chris Polk ran for 177 yards and another score as Washington (7-6), in their first bowl game since 2002, surprised Nebraska (10-4) 19-7 in Thursday night's Holiday Bowl.

Big Ten Conference:Looks Like Nebraska's Coming

Well, it looks like Nebraska is on its' way to the Big Ten Conference.  This looks like the crippling (perhaps) fatal blow to the Big 12 Conference.

The Big 12 Conference: Rest In Pieces?

If this report from the Omaha Herald-Leader is true, then Nebraska is expected to defect to the Big Ten Conference.  If that's the case, Missouri could well follow, then watch at least five Southern Division (football) schools, meaning at least three Texas schools, the two Oklahoma schools and either Baylor or Colorado perhaps move to the Pacific 10 Conference.  This may very well mark the beginning of the end of the Big 12 Conference.  It is football money that is driving all these potential shifts in the collegiate football atmosphere.
