Fun With Dean and Jerry!

Here's a kinescope of the May 8, 1955 NBC Network telecast of the Colgate Comedy Hour starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.  The show opens with Dean and Jerry doing a takeoff on CBS's Toast of the Town (which aired at the same time as the Colgate hour, 8PM Eastern Time) with Jerry doing a wicked Ed Sullivan impersonation.

Complete with commercials for products from the Colgate Palmolive Company (still around today after 210 years of business)!

Umbriaco!!! Time For Jimmy, Folks!

Here's is a kinescope of the May 16, 1951 NBC Network telecast of the Four Star Revue, starring Jimmy Durante, who was one of several regular rotating hosts on the network's Wednesday night comedy-variety showcase.  Fred Allen and Eddie Cantor were among Jimmy's guests that night, as well as his old vaudeville partner Eddie Jackson.



The show was renamed the All Star Revue in the fall of 1951 and moved to Saturday nights.
