Last-Second Rally Pushes Steel Past KISS In Regular-Season Finale

At Portland, Oregon:

Quarterback Shane Austin completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jared Perry with seven seconds remaining on Monday night as the Portland Steel (3-13) upended the visiting Los Angeles KISS (7-9) 48-46 in the final Arena Football League regular-season contest for both clubs in front of 5,236 fans, the second largest home crowd of the season at Portland's Moda Center.

The Steel will travel to Phoenix for a Saturday night National Conference semifinal playoff game against the Arizona Rattlers (who finished the regular season at 13-3)  at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (CBS Sports Network).

Broken Record: Steel Complete 0-7 Road Swing With Loss To KISS

The Los Angeles KISS (4-4) defeated the visiting----and winless---Portland Steel (0-8) 55-42 in Saturday Arena Football League action as Portland completed an 0-7 road trip.

Chalk Up Another Lopsided Defeat For The Steel

At Anaheim, California:

In an Arena Football League contest originally set for this past Saturday in Portland, but switched to Anaheim due to the fact that the Portland Trail Blazers hosted an NBA playoff game, the Los Angeles KISS (3-3) forced six turnovers in routing the winless Portland Steel (0-5) 66-27 on Monday.

KISS Pick Up First Win, Top Inconsistant Thunder At Home

A series of unforced errors enabled the previously-winless Los Angeles KISS (1-9) to pick up their first Arena Football League victory of the season on Sunday, 52-40 on at home over the Portland Thunder (3-7), who have now dropped six of their last seven starts.

Quarterback Darron Thomas threw for 229 yards and six touchdowns and ran for another on Saturday as the Portland Thunder (3-4) snapped their three-game Arena Football League losing streak with a 63-47 home win over the winless Los Angeles KISS (0-8) in front of 10, 023 fans at the Moda Center.

Thunder Knock Off KISS To Open Up Two-Game Lead For Final National Conference Playoff Berth

Bryce Peila's fumble recovery for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter helped lift the Portland Thunder (5-11) to a 44-31 Saturday Arena Football League home win over the Los Angeles KISS (3-13), enabling the Thunder to hold a two-game lead over Los Angeles with two regular-season game remaining for the National Conference's fourth and final playoff berth, which Portland can clinch with one more win or one more KISS defeat.
