Sebastian Blanco (34') and Diego Valeri (68') each scored once on Saturday as the Portland Timbers picked up their third consecutive Major League Soccer victory, 2-1 on the road over Real Salt Lake.
Sam Johnson scored for the hosts in the 62nd minute.
Goalkeeper Steve Clark preserved the Timbers' triumph with six saves, one of them on Albert Rusnak's penalty kick attempt in the 26th minute.
The Timbers will visit Vancouver on Friday to battle the Whitecaps in their first Cascadia Cup clash of 2019 this coming Friday at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (Timbers TV Network via KPDX-TV, Portland-Vancouver; ESPN+).
