In the lone Saturday Major League Baseball playoff contest that was contested , Travis Wood became the first relief pitcher since 1924 to hit a postseason home run as the Chicago Cubs defeated the visiting San Francisco Giants 5-2 in game two of a National League divisional playoff series.
The Cubs, who now lead the series two games to none, can finish off the Giants with a game-three victory on Monday in San Francisco.
On one other note, Saturday's scheduled second game of the Los Angeles-Washington series, with the Dodgers leading one game to none, was postponed to Sunday due to rain.
