At Newark, New Jersey:

Brian Boucher stopped all 28 shots while Claude Giroux scored twice---once on the power play---as the Philadelphia Flyers finished off the New Jersey Devils in five games as they took game five 3-0 on the road.

At Pittsburgh:

Matt Carkner scored the game winner at 7:06 minutes of the third overtime period as the Ottawa Senators stayed alive in their conference quarterfinal series as they defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 on the road in game five.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

At Nashville:

Patrick Sharp scored twice---once on the power play---and Antti Niemi stopped all 33 shots for his second shutout as the Chicago Blackhawks squared their series with the Nashville Predators at two games apiece with a solid 3-0 road triumph in game four.



At San Jose, California:


Evgeni Nabokov stopped all 28 shots while Logan Couture scored twice (once on the power play) as the San Jose Sharks took a three-games-to-two lead in their opening-round series by burying the visiting Colorado Avalanche 5-0 in game five.
