Timbers Stay Hot Against Resurgent Quakes

 At Portland, Oregon:


Jaroslaw Niezgoda scored twice (46', 52') while Felipe Mora added a goal (86') and Steve Clark made seven saves for his third shutout in his last four games on Sunday as the Portland Timbers downed the visiting San Jose Earthquakes 3-0 for their fifth straight Major League Soccer victory (and sixth in their last seven games).


The Timbers, level on points with Seattle for top spot in the Western Conference, will visit Real Salt Lake on Wednesday at 6:30 PM Pacific Time (ROOT Sports Northwest/ESPN+).
