Timbers Gain Casacdia Cup Draw With Sounders In Seattle

At Seattle:

In front of 51,796 fans at CenturyLink Field, Diego Valeri's successfully-converted penalty kick in the second minute of first-half stoppage time enabled the Portland Timbers to gain a 1-1 Cascadia Cup----and Major League Soccer---road draw with the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.

Cristian Roldan scored for the Sounders, who maintained first place in the Western Conference standings, in the 18th minute.

The Timbers still top the standings for the Cascadia Cup title.

Seattle stretched their unbeaten streak to eleven games.

Portland's next match is at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on Saturday, September 9 against New York City FC at 2:30 PM Pacific Time (ROOT Sports).
