With goals from Diego Valeri (65') and Darren Mattocks (90'+6) to go with shutout performance from goalkeeper Jeff Attinella (capped off by a big save in the 90th minute), the Portland Timbers, despite losing defenseman Larrys Madiala to a straight red card in the 80th minute, blanked the visiting New York Red Bulls 2-0 in the lone Friday Major League Soccer match.
The Timbers will host the Colorado Rapids this coming Wednesday at 7:30 PM Pacific Time (Portland Timbers Television Network via KPDX, Portland-Vancouver).
