Timbers Erupt In Second Half, Stiff Sporting KC

At Portland, Oregon:

In a Sunday Major League Soccer contest that saw both clubs reduced to ten men each due to first-half red-card ejections (Portland's Diego Valeri [12'], Kansas City's Soni Mustiva [39']), Diego Valeri (65'), Jack Jewsbury (87'), and Fanendo Adi (90'+2) each scored a goal while goalkeeper Jake Gleeson pitched a shutout as the Portland Timbers smothered visiting Sporting Kansas City 3-0.

The Timbers will travel to Washington for a Saturday evening contest against DC United at 4:00 PM Pacific Time (Timbers' broadcast television network via KPDX, Portland-Vancouver).
