CHIEFS OVERCOME ANOTHER DOUBLE-DIGIT DEFICIT, UPEND NINERS FOR FIRST SUPER BOWL CROWN IN 50 YEARS; PATRICK MAHONES NAMED GAME MVP

At Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida:

Quarterback Patrick Mahones (named the game's Most Valuable Player) completed 26 of 42 passes for 286 yards and a pair of touchdowns (while running for another score) on Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs overcame still another double-digit deficit by scoring 21 unanswered fourth-quarter points as they upended the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV as the National Football League's first century came to a close.

The Chiefs won their first world championship in 50 years.

For Kansas City head coach Andy Reid, it was his first Super Bowl crown after 21 years as an NFL head coach (he previously coached the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX, which they lost to the New England Patriots).
