Stan Mikita, one of the most prominent names in Chicago Blackhawks history, passed away on Tuesday after a long illness at age 78.
Mr. Mikita played 22 National Hockey League seasons, all with the Blackhawks, and starred on Chicago's 1961 Stanley Cup championship team.
Stan still holds 'Hawks records for most games played, points, and assists, and trails only his longtime teammate and fellow Hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Hull in goals scored (he scored 541).
