At Portland, Oregon:
Julio Cascante's own goal in the 76th minute on Sunday propelled the Seattle Sounders to a 1-0 Major League Soccer----and Cascadia Cup----road win over the Portland Timbers.
Goalkeeper Stefan Frei made three saves to preserve the shutout and the Sounders' MLS-era franchise record seventh straight victory, which stretched their unbeaten run to 10 contests.
In stark contrast, after their 15-match unbeaten streak, the Timbers have dropped four straight games, having been outscored 10-2 (while surrendering eight unanswered goals in the process).
Seattle has climbed up to fifth place in the Western Conference standings while Portland fell to seventh place.
The Timbers next match is this coming Wednesday night at home against Toronto FC (7:30 PM Pacific Time, ROOT Sports Northwest).
