At Nashville, Tennessee:
In Friday's edition of the Music City Bowl, Justin Jackson ran for 157 yards and two touchdowns as the Northwestern Wildcats (#21 in the final CFP rankings; 10-3) held off a furious Kentucky Wildcats (7-6) rally to hold on for a 24-23 victory.
After quarterback Stephen Johnson ran nine yards for a Kentucky touchdown with 37 seconds remaining in regulation, the SEC school went for the go-ahead two-point conversion, only to see Mr. Johnson's pass to Tavin Richardson fall incomplete, helping to enable the Big Ten school to hold on for the win.
