The MLS Cup Playoffs' knockout round concluded on Thursday with two games.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:

Zack Steffen made eight saves during 120 scoreless minutes, then made two more saves during the penalty-kick shootout, while Federico Higuain, Niko Hansen, and Adam Jahn converted their spot kicks as the Columbus Crew knocked off Atlanta United 3-0 on the road in the shootout.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
At Houston:
Alberth Elis scored the overtime game-winning goal in the 94th minute as the Houston Dynamo defeated visiting Sporting Kansas City 1-0.
The conference semifinals are set to start on Sunday with kickoff times Pacific.
