Jack Jewsbury Stoppage-Time Goal Carries Timbers Past Quakes

At Portland, Oregon:

In the lone Sunday Major League Soccer contest---one that had its' start pushed back six hours due to a heat advisory---Jack Jewsbury scored the winning goal in the opening minute of second-half stoppage time as the Portland Timbers---despite seeing two goals disallowed due to offside calls---defeated the visiting San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 for their fifth straight home victory.

The Timbers' next match is set for this coming Saturday at 4:00 PM Pacific Time (ROOT Sports Northwest) as they take on the Philadelphia Union at PPL Park in Chester, Pennsylvania.
