Both semifinal games of the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament were played on Saturday at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
In the opener, Russ Smith scored 21 points while Luke Hancock came off the bench to score 20 as the Louisville Cardinals (34-5) came back from a 12-point second-half deficit to upend the Wichita State Shockers (30-9) 72-68, despite 24 points and 10 rebounds from the Shockers' Cleanthony Early.
In the nightcap, Tim Hardaway, Jr. scored 13 points while Mitch McGary (to go with his 12 rebounds) and Glenn Robinson III each added 10 as the Michigan Wolverines (31-7) held off the Syracuse Orangemen (30-10) 61-56 despite 22 points from Syracuse's J.J. Fair.
On Monday at the Georgia Dome, it will be Michigan vs. Louisville for the national title, with tip-off slated for 6:23 PM Pacific Time (CBS).
