NBA Playoffs: Heat Finish Off 76ers; Thunder Do Same To Nuggets; Spurs Stay Alive With OT Win

Three more games were played on Wednesday as the first round of the NBA Playoffs continued.


Eastern Conference:


At Miami:


Dwyane Wade scored 26 points while Chris Bosh added 22 to go with his 11 rebounds as the Miami Heat won their first playoff series since winning their NBA title five years ago with a 97-91 game-five home win over the Philadelphia 76ers with the Heat winning their conference quarterfinal series four games to one.


Western Conference:


At San Antonio:


After Gary Neal connected on a game-tying three-pointer with 1.7 seconds remaining in regulation time, the San Antonio Spurs outscored the visiting Memphis Grizzlies 13-6 in the overtime period of game five to win 110-103 to cut the Grizzlies' series advantage to three games to two.  Manu Ginobili scored 33 points to pace the Spurs, who avoided elimination with the win.


At Oklahoma City:


Kevin Durant scored 41 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder overcame a nine-point deficit with four minutes remaining to top the visiting Denver Nuggets 100-97 in game five of their first-round series to finish off their divisional rivals four games to  one for their first playoff series victory since 2005 when the franchise was still located in Seattle.
