Timbers Upend Dragon On Road To Stay Alive In CONCACAF Champions League

At San Salvador, El Salvador:

Goals courtesy of Fanendo Adi (79) and Darlington Nagbe (90') enabled the Portland Timbers on Tuesday to do something they have yet to do in Major League Soccer play this season----win on the road---by knocking off CD Dragon 2-1 in Group B action in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Kevin Melara scored for the Salvadorian club in the 54th minute as their Champions League campaign came to a close.

The Timbers will host Deportivo Saprissa of Costa Rica in the group-stage finale for both clubs (with a berth in the quarterfinal round going to the winner) on Wednesday, October 18 at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (Facebook, live; Galavision, same-day tape at 9:30 PM Pacific Time).

Portland's next MLS match is on Saturday at Commerce City, Colorado against the Colorado Rapids at 6:00 PM Pacific Time (Timbers broadcast television network via KPDX-TV, Portland-Vancouver).
