Stoppage-Time Goal Carries Timbers Past Galaxy; Portland Now Second In MLS West

At Portland, Oregon:

Andrew Jean-Baptiste scored the winning goal in second-half stoppage time (90'+4) on Saturday night night as the Portland Timbers battled from behind to overcome the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy 2-1 in a nationally-televised Major League Soccer contest.

The Timbers, who climbed up to sole possession of second place in MLS' Western Conference standings, will visit the Philadelphia Union for a match next Saturday.
