I have long come to the conclusion that
Fox News Channel anchorwoman
Uma Pemmaraju deserves not only more opportunities to host, but should be promoted to full time anchoring duties. Uma's been in broadcast journalism for more than 25 years though she looks much younger than that. She is capable of conducting interviews as well as anchoring news coverage. If any of you out there likes Uma's work and would like to see her host more often, you can contact the Fox News Channel at

Believe it or not, Uma Pemmaraju DID get a chance to do some hosting this past Sunday, July 18. First, from 11AM to 12:30 PM Pacific Time, Uma hosted "Fox News Live." The first 30 minutes, she piloted solo, then was joined by Bob Sellers for the following 60 minutes. At 4PM Pacific Time, Uma hosted the Sunday edition of "The Fox Report." In both cases, she substituted for Laurie Dhue. Uma did a nice job in both cases.
Uma's done it again. The talented and professional Miss Pemmaraju has gwest hosted "Fox News Live" for three straight days (July 18-20, 2004) and is slated to do it again on July 21 in the same two-hour time slot as on July 19 and 20. It's been a very busy week thus far for Uma.
From the OOPS department:
As it turned out, Jane Skinner, the mayor of that town caled "Skinnerville," handled the hosting chores on Wednesday, July 21, hosting the first 30 minutes with Rick Foubaum, then a full hour by herself, then the final half-hour with David Asman. As for Uma Pemmaraju----she did her usual gig, which is doing headline updates that afternoon. My apologies for coming up like a dummer-esel. Hopefully, Uma will get more hosting chances soon.
Indeed, Uma Pemmaraju did get more chances, hosting the 11AM-12Noon Pacific/2-3PM Eastern Time hour of "Fox News Live" in place of Martha MacCallum on Friday, July 30 and Monday, August 2.
