With the victory, the Ducks landed the Pac-12's automatic NCAA Tourney berth and made it to the "Big Dance" for a fourth successive season, while they have their best record after 34 games since the 1938-39 season, which they finished by winning the inaugural NCAA Tourney championship.

Gogi Grant, Singer Who Had Hit In '56 With "The Wayward Wind," R.I.P.
Gogi Grant, the singer who had a #1 hit in 1956 with "The Wayward Wind," passed away on Thursday at age 91.
Miss Grant's passing was announced by her son, Joshua Beckett.
Gogi, born Myrtle Audrey Arinsberg in Philadelphia, moved to Los Angeles at age 12.
In her adopted home state, she won a teenage singing contest and appeared on television talent shows.
Gogi began her recording career in 1952 under the nom de plume Audrey Brown, then under another name, Audrey Grant.
It was RCA Victor Records A&R chief Dave Kapp who gave her the name of "Gogi." When Miss Grant asked Mr. Kapp just what is a Gogi, Dave responded "Darned if I know. I dreamed it up last night."
In 1955, Gogi signed on with Era Records, a small recording label. It was with Era that Gogi had one of the best-remembered hit recordings of 1956 with "The Wayward Wind," which climbed to the top of Billboard's pop charts.

The quarterfinal round of the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Tournament took place on Thursday with four games to be played at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada.

In the opening game, Ryan Richardson scored 21 points as the top-seeded Weber State Wildcats (24-8) held off the eighth-seeded Portland State Vikings (13-18) 78-74.

WCC Tournament: BYU, Waves, Gaels, Zags (Who Oust Pilots) Advance
The quarterfinal round of the West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament took place on Saturday at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada, near Las Vegas on Saturday with four games.
In the opener, Kyle Collinsworth, the WCC Player of the Year, scored 13 points and came up with two key assists late in the contest as the third-seeded BYU Cougars (23-9) outlasted sixth-seeded Santa Clara (11-20) 72-60, despite 30 points from the Broncos' Jared Brownridge.
In the next contest, Jeremy Major converted five three-point shots en route to a season-high-matching 28 points as the #4-seeded Pepperdine Waves (18-12) held off the #5-seeded San Francisco Dons (15-15) 90-86. Devin Watson scored 33 points and Tim Derksen added 23 points to pace the Dons.
In the third game, Dave Pineau scored 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out five assists as the top-seeded Saint Mary's Gaels (26-4) used a balanced attack to down the eighth-seeded Loyola Marymount Lions (14-17) 60-48.
In Saturday's finale, Eric McClellan scored a season-high 26 points while Domantas Sabonis added 24 as the second-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (25-5) dominated the seventh-seeded Portland Pilots (12-20) 92-67.

Beavers Hold Off Bruins On Road, Assure Themselves Of .500 Pac-12 Campagin, Keep NCAA Tourney Hopes Alive
At Los Angeles:
Stephen Thompson, Jr. scored all of his 23 points in the second half as the Oregon State Beavers (18-11 overall, 9-9 in Pac-12 play) held off a late UCLA rally and held off the Bruins (15-16, 6-12) on the road.
Gary Payton II, who delivered a monster dunk that sealed the Beavers' victory that helped their chances of reaching their first NCAA Tournament since 1990, scored 17 points, as did Olaf Schaftenaar.
Isaac Hamilton paced the Bruins with 21 points.

Tyler Dorsey scored 19 points while Elgin Cook added 17 (to go with his 12 rebounds) on Saturday as the Oregon Ducks (#9 in the Associated Press poll, #10 in the USA Today/Coaches rankings; 25-6 overall, 14-4 in Pac-12 play) clinched their first outright Pac-12 Conference regular-season title since 2002 (and fifth overall in school history) with a 76-66 road victory over the Southern California Trojans (20-11, 9-9).

In the opening game of the West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament played on Friday at the Orleans Arena, Brandon Brown scored 20 points (converting all ten of his free throws in the process) as the Loyola Marymount Lions (14-16) defeated the San Diego Toreros (9-21) 64-61.
Olin Carter and Duda Sanadze each scored 20 points for the Toreros.
