Let's Take A Train Ride With Porky

From 1937, here's Porky Pig starring in a Leon Schlesinger production, "Porky's Railroad," theatrically released by Warner Brothers as part of the Looney Tunes series.  In this one, engineer Porky and his train "Toots" are seeing their futures threatened by a new streamlined train.  With animation by Joe D'Igalo and Robert Bentley and musical direction by Carl W. Stalling (and the uncredited voice characterization by Mel Blanc, in one of his earliest efforts as Porky's voice), this cartoon was supervised by Frank Tashlin.

Time For Early Porky

Here's Porky Pig, starring in the 1936 cartoon "Porky's Pet," part of Warner Brothers' Looney Tunes series.  In this one, our hero and his pet osterich Lulu find great difficulty going to New York City.  With animation by Cal Dalton and Sandy Walker and musical score by Norman Spencer, this cartoon was produced by Leon Schlesinger and directed by Jack King.

Early Porky

From 1936, here's Porky Pig starring in "The Blow Out," part of Warner Brothers' Looney Tunes series. In this one, someone tries to blow up a bank, but Porky---without even knowing it----ends up foiling the villain's plot. With musical score by Bernard Brown and animation by Charles (Chuck) Jones and Sid Sutherland, this cartoon was produced by Leon Schlesinger and supervised by Tex Avery.

Time Now, Boys and Girls, For A Cartoon

Here is a cartoon take on fairy tales with "Foney Fables," from 1942, as part of Warner Brothers' Merrie Melodies series, produced by Leon Schlesinger.  This cartoon with story by Michael Maltese, animation by Richard Bickenbach, and music by Carl W. Stalling, was directed by Friz Freleng.

Time For Porky

From 1937, here's Porky Pig starring in the Looney Tunes cartoon, "Porky's Road Race."  Produced by Leon Schlesinger and released by Warner Brothers, this cartoon, with animation by Robert Bentley and Joe D'Igalo and music by Carl W. Stalling, was supervised (directed) by Frank Tashlin under the nom de plume Frank Tash.  In this one, Porky competes in an automobile race against various Hollywood celebrities.  Characteratures of Charles Chaplin, W.C. Fields, Charles Laughton, and Boris Karloff (as the Frankenstein monster) are among those featured.
