That year, AMC made Rambler a separate make from Nash and Hudson as company president George Romney (Mitt's dad) was putting all his chips on the compact Ramblers as Nash and Hudson bit the dust after '57.
Here's a full-page magazine ad for American Motors' 1961 Ambassador by Rambler. Featured are a Custom Four-Door Sedan (top) and Custom Cross-Country Station Wagon (bottom). Also pictured is then-AMC president George Romney.
