So Long, Davy (And You Too, Dan'l): Fess Parker, R. I. P.

Actor Fess Parker, who soared to fame for portraying coonskin-capped Davy Crockett in a series of segments on the old Disneyland television show in the mid-1950s, and who also starred as fellow coonskin-cap-wearer Daniel Boone on the 1964-70 TV show of the same name, passed away on Thursday at his Santa Ynez Valley, California home at age 85.
