Both games in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's East Regional----were contested on Friday at the TD Garden in Boston.
Game #1:
Jalen Brunson scored 27 points as the top-seeded Villanova Wildcats (33-4) outlasted the fifth-seeded West Virginia Mountaineers (26-11) 90-78.
Game #2:
Keenan Evans scored 16 points as the third-seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders (27-9) advanced beyond the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in the program's 93-year history by upending the second-seeded Purdue Boilermakers (30-7) 78-65.
Carsen Edwards paced the Boilers with 30 points.
On Sunday (@11:20 AM Pacific Time over CBS), Villanova will take on Texas Tech in the East Regional Final, with the winner advancing to the Final Four in San Antonio.

NCAA East: Boilermakers, Mountaineers Obtain Berths In Sweet Sixteen
The quarterfinal round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's East Regional concluded on Sunday with two games.
At Detroit (Little Caesar's Arena):
Vincent Edwards scored 20 points as the second-seeded Purdue Boilermakers (30-6) held off the tenth-seeded Butler Bulldogs 76-73 (21-14) .
Kelan Martin topped the Bulldogs with 29 points.
At San Diego (Viejas Arena):
In a battle of West Virginia's two Division I men's basketball programs, Jevon Carter scored 28 points to guide the fifth-seeded West Virginia Mountaineers (26-10) to a 94-71 domination of the Marshall Thundering Herd (25-11).
Lamont West added 23 points and 18 rebounds off the bench to the Mountaineers' coffers.

NCAA East: Nova, Red Raiders To Sweet Sixteen
The Round of 32 in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament commenced on Saturday with eight games, two of them in the East Regional.
At Pittsburgh (PPG Paints Arena):
Mikal Bridges scored 23 points as the top-seeded Villanova Wildcats (32-4) ran roughshod over the ninth-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide (20-16) 81-58.
At Dallas (American Airlines Center):
Keenan Evans scored 22 points as the third-seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders (26-9) held off the sixth-seeded Florida Gators (21-13) 69-66.
Jalen Hudson paced the Gators with 23 points.

NCAA East: Boilermakers, Thundering Herd, Butler, Mountaineers Advance
Action from the East Regional of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament continued on Friday with four games.
At Detroit (Little Caesar's Arena):
Game #1:
Vincent Edwards and Carsen Edwards each scored 15 points as the second-seeded Purdue Boilermakers (29-6) dominated 15th-seeded Cal State Fullerton (20-12) 74-48.
Kyle Allman, Jr. topped the Titans with 21points.
Game #2:
Kelan Martin scored 27 points while Kamar Baldwin added 24 (with each grabbing nine rebounds) as the tenth-seeded Butler Bulldogs (21-13) knocked off the seventh-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks (23-12) 79-62.
At San Diego (Viejas Arena):
Game #1:
Jon Elmore scored 27 points as the fourteenth-seeded Marshall Thundering Herd (25-10) shocked third-seeded Wichita State (25-8) 81-75.
Conner Frankamp paced the Shockers with 27 points of his own.
Game #2:
Jevon Carter scored 21 points to guide the fifth-seeded West Virginia Mountaineers (25-10) to an 85-68 victory over the twelfth-seeded Murray State Racers (26-6).
Terrell Miller, Jr. paced the racers with 27 points while grabbing 17 rebounds.

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's East Regional's opening salvo took place on Thursday with four games.
At Pittsburgh (PPG Paints Arena):
Jalen Brunson scored 16 points as the top-seeded Villanova Wildcats (31-4), with six players scoring in double figures, dominated the sixteenth-seeded Radford Highlanders (23-13) 87-61 in the opening contest.
In the second game, Collin Sexton scored 25 points while John Petty added 20 coming off the bench as the ninth-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide (20-15) held off the eighth-seeded Virginia Tech Hokies (21-12) 86-83.
At Dallas (American Airlines Center):
In the first of two Thursday games in Big D, Keenan Evans scored 23 points as the third-seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders (25-9) defeated the 14th-seeded Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (28-7) 70-60.
In the nightcap, Egor Koulechov scored 20 points as the sixth-seeded Florida Gators (21-12) had their way with the 11th-seeded St. Bonaventure Bonnies (26-8) 77-62.
